Building my classes for the semester, I realized that I may be taking on a lot this year. My Learning Community is not looking terribly strong right now, which means I may be taking on another composition course, which I would need to build. It would represent my fourth separate build of the semester. I’m not two weeks out from classes and have only fully completed 1 of a possible 4. Heck, even if the LC makes its still 1 of 4 as I haven’t finished that build out either.
We were afraid the LC would not make.
I was hoping this was going to be the kind of semester where I was fully ready day 1. Now it is turning into the same old miasma that it feels like it always is. More and more I am looking for a future where everything is locked in and I don’t need to worry about making and not making. I want to focus on providing really good, researched, and useful content that students carry forward with them. I want each week to feel like it means something and when you miss its, ‘dang, how did I miss that?!’ as opposed to ‘I missed a week… did I miss anything?’
The answer should always be yes.
Some Thoughts:
- Absolutely Bonkers Headline of the Day: “Ben Jones, good ol’ boy ‘Dukes of Hazzard’ actor and 2-term US House member, dies at 84” So… Cooter was a sitting US Congressman for two terms before being redistricted out of office. There’s a lot to be thinking about here. A lot. This is how fame impacts politics… Rest in peace, Cooter.
- Someone should do a study into the impact of ASMR on your mental well being…
