Just got back from a few days in San Diego and I learned some things:
- I love San Diego more every time I visit. I walk away with a sense of peace and more crazy stories than any writer should be able to take part in.
- Writing by the ocean is just sick awesome.
- I want a skateboard.
Now none of these are particularly post worthy but they all have a lot to do with the fact that I am still a kid at heart and someone who wants to spend a great deal of time travelling around, writing stories, and having fun with my family. In fact, this is the plan for the summer. We are going to work on science, math, and straight up water play.
Something else I learned is that I’m a better dad when I have a moment away from the boys to reload and reflect on how I’ve been doing as a parent. I suppose the same can be said for my teaching as well.
Now I’m drained. Driving that many hours will do that. More tomorrow.
