I used to have more ideas. In truth I used to force them out of myself as though doing so would widen the aperture of the connection between the story realm and our realm. I need to get back to that. I used to really love designing new characters every day and telling stories in bed. At some point I got kind of shook and fell away from the idea archives and just really fell away from generating a ton of ideas at all.
My brain started to idle.
So I have been on a kick to get the brain back up and working. I compare the ‘ol noggin to the ‘ol car. That car is 10+ years old and has been faithful and good. Still, there are parts wearing out. The A/C is shot and could use a tune up. The shocks are worn out to the point of danger. I need to devote time and resources to the upkeep of that car. Likewise I need to devote time and resources to the upkeep of this brain.
And this body. That second part is in the forefront with my back all messed up from a bad workout.
Some Thoughts:
- Interesting discussion reemerging in science about the beginning of the universe. One theory is that there was no beginning. A big bang suggests a single point of origin while this other theory hypothesizes that at the initial point of the universe there was not a point but more like the rounded end of a funnel and we–our concepts of time and such only exist at the top of said funnel. This is one such theory. There are others put forth by Paul Steinhardt and Neil Turok. They are worth reading for sure.
- I say this as I stayed up the entire evening contemplating the vastness of the universe and the concept of death.
