4.148. NanoWrimo day 30

So this is the end, my friends. This is the last day of the month and the last day of the Wrimo. I’ve had a really good time doing this, and as someone who has not been writing as much as he should, this is good for me.

I’m happy and excited about the work I’ve done on the story and I believe there is a solid foundation for this novel to get written up a lot more next year. I’m going to write this thing next year, and build out a better outline before I do.

The writing life for me has long been an up and down affair, with several successes and moments of real disappointment at the limitations of what I’ve been able to do so far. When I look at the writers who are successful and reach their potential they do it more than I do and show more dedication to the craft than I have. That is a change I am willing to make, because I need to; because it is necessary for success.

This month has been a reminder of what comes with consistency. The more words, the easier it becomes to script stories. The more stories I get out the more misses I will have and as a result I will get some gems –more gems out.

Thanks for everyone who followed along. This has been a great journey.
